General Contracting in Central Texas
A general contractor's real job isn't swinging hammers — it's protecting your budget, your schedule, and your property while thirty different trades move through the job. That's a builder's skill set, and it's what Slickrock Development was built on.
We've managed the construction of more than 100 homes from bare dirt to final walk. We bring that same discipline to general contracting: honest line-item estimates before you commit, a construction schedule the subs actually follow, permits handled correctly the first time, and one team accountable for all of it.

What We Take On
Scope of Work
Additions & Structural Remodels
Room additions, second stories, load-bearing wall removals, and layout changes — engineered, permitted, and built so the new work is indistinguishable from the original structure.
Ground-Up Construction
New construction from slab to roof, residential or light commercial, managed by a team that has taken more than a hundred buildings through the full cycle.
Whole-Home Renovations
Complete interior renovations — kitchens, baths, flooring, mechanical updates — sequenced properly so trades don't undo each other's work and the schedule holds.
Outdoor Structures & Site Work
Pavilions, outdoor kitchens, retaining walls, flatwork, and site work. If it needs a slab, a footing, or a permit, it's in our lane.
Why builder-level budgeting matters
Most contracting horror stories start with a vague bid. We estimate the way builders estimate — line items for every trade, allowances stated in writing, and contingencies discussed before the contract, not after the demo.
Scheduling is the other half. A builder runs a critical path every day of the year: which trade is in, which is next, and what happens when the weather turns. On your project that shows up as fewer idle days, fewer surprises, and a finish date that means something.
And because we build our own spec homes, we treat your money like it's our own draw schedule — because on our own projects, it is.
Where we work
We serve Bell and Williamson County from our home base in Temple — including Temple, Belton, Salado, and Georgetown. See the standard we build to on our projects page and in the photo gallery.
FAQ
Straight Answers
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — fully insured, led by a Texas A&M Construction Science graduate, with more than 100 homes of construction experience across Central Texas.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
Always. Permits, engineering coordination, and inspections are part of every job — city or county. If a contractor asks you to pull your own permit, that's a red flag.
How do your estimates work?
Line items by trade, allowances in writing, and contingencies discussed up front. If something changes mid-job, the change order is priced and approved before the work happens — never discovered on an invoice.
What size projects do you take on?
From structural remodels and additions up through ground-up homes and light commercial. If it needs real construction management, it fits; for handyman-scale repairs, we're honestly not the cheapest call.
